Distribution Center

Apple Valley’s Project Jupiter Moves Forward

According to the Victorville Daily Press, February 10, 2017, the Apple Valley Town Council has approved a resolution that, in part, clears the way for the next step toward construction of a distribution center dubbed Project Jupiter, set to be built on 106 acres within the town’s northern borders. The Council’s unanimous vote allows for submittal of a building plan for the 1.3-million-square-foot distribution center to be occupied by discount retailer Big Lots. The facility is expected to employ between 400 and 500. Construction will bring another 300 workers. The town expects to earn $2.8 million in development impact fee payments and an estimated annual property tax revenue of more than $600,000.
