Construction Activity High in Hesperia for 2016

According to the Victorville Daily Press, November 29, 2015, based on staff reports, several construction projects may soon begin in the Gateway City of the High Desert. The Hesperia Development Review Committee will review a proposal for an 18,000 square-foot Planet Fitness health club in the High Desert Gateway shopping center on Cataba Road, just west of Interstate 15. In August, the Planning Commission received plans for a 37,000-square-foot In-Shape Health Clubs on the northwest corner of Juniper Street and Ninth Avenue. Also making its way through the development process is the construction of a three-story, 14-unit condominium on about 2 acres on the southeast corner of Donert Street and A Avenue. The commission is also reviewing the construction of two 3,500 square-foot warehouse buildings on nearly 2 acres on the west side of Hesperia Road, just north of Mesa Street. In the housing arena, the City Council approved a final tract map for 19 single-family residential lots by Sorrento Homes. The tract is on about 5 acres on the northeast corner of Tamarisk Avenue and Palm Street. Sorrento Homes is also working on a new 18-home project near the corner of Ranchero Road and Danbury Avenue, on the south side of Hesperia. The new project includes 2,800-to 3,000- squares-foot homes.
