Breaking Ground on Project

First Medical Marijuana Cultivation and Manufacturing Facility in Adelanto

As mentioned in the Victorville Daily Press, September 15, 2016, a milestone for the city’s medical marijuana enterprise, Genex Trading broke ground on a $2 million and nearly 13,000-square-foot cultivation and manufacturing facility, becoming the first such entrepreneur to move dirt. David Abovian, founder and CEO of the investment company, said construction should be completed in six months. The facility will hire 90 percent of its up-to 30-person workforce from within Adelanto. The city has approved at least 25 medical marijuana permits for businesses within Adelanto’s industrial parks, where such activity is allowed, according to details released by officials early this year.
