Hesperia Expects Growth to Continue in 2018

According to the Victorville Daily Press, January 8, 2018, Mayor Russ Blewett told the Daily Press that 2018 will see several groundbreaking and ribbon cutting events in Hesperia. The ribbon cutting for the West Main Villas community was scheduled for the first quarter of 2018. The 200 luxury-style apartments are located on Main Street and sandwiched between Interstate 15 and Highway 395. Phase II of the Villa’s 55-plus senior community is expected to break ground this year on Avenal Street. The new phase includes a 96-unit gated community with four two-story buildings. Hesperia will also see the construction of a two-story senior living community on the northside of Main Street. The 84-condominium facility project also includes a 131-unit assisted living building and a 300-person adult day care center. The property will also include space for a 4,000-square-foot retail building. Gateway West is expected to welcome Jimmy John’s, Fatburger, a Shell gas station and 5-Star Nails this year. The Les Schwab Tire Center was expected to open in the first quarter of 2018 in the new shopping center on the corner of Main Street and Escondido Avenue. A 76 gas station is expected to open near the Starbucks close to the corner of Mariposa and Ranchero roads. A three-story medical office building and over 9,000 square feet of restaurant space is planned for property on Bear Valley Road. A nearly 25,000-square-foot industrial park on Lemon Street and C Avenue is also in the works.
