Town Hall Meeting Held for ‘Gigafy Phelan’ Project

According to the Victorville Daily Press, November 7, 2017, the company that plans to bring its high-speed internet service to the Tri-Community planned a town hall meeting in Phelan, for new customers. Race Communications hosted its second town hall gathering, where they shared construction and roll out details for their “Gigafy Phelan” project, which will provide some 7,600 households in the area with the fiberbased internet system. “Once the project is complete, Race will provide download and upload speeds of up to 1Gbps (1,000Mbps), some of the fastest speeds available in the residential market,” said Victoria Felix, a company spokeswoman and team member. “The company offers unlimited data and plans that do not require a contract. In addition, the pricing is guaranteed for five years.” Race Communications was awarded a $27.6 million grant this year provided by the California Advanced Services Fund.
