Tractor Supply Company Breaks Ground in Hesperia

According to the Victorville Daily Press, August 13, 2015, the largest retail farm and ranch store in the U.S, Tennessee-based Tractor Supply Company, broke ground on its newest location in Hesperia. Community leaders, along with city and regional officials, were on hand during a groundbreaking ceremony for the 19,000-square foot retail facility on the southeast corner of Main and Mesa Linda streets, just west of Interstate 15. Founded in 1938, the store caters to rural communities. It carries items such as welders, generators, animal care products, workwear, pet supplies, animal feed, power tools, riding mowers, fencing, lawn and garden products and more. Hesperia Mayor, Eric Schmidt, said the new TSC is expected to generate 100 temporary construction jobs, and up to 15 permanent jobs once the store is open sometime in 2016. He added that the store should generate $4 million in yearly taxable income. The company operates over 1,400 retail stores in 49 states and employs more than 21,000 team members.
